Welcome to the vibrant world of Kal's Bakery, a culinary gem nestled in the heart of Brooklyn at 3401 Church Ave. This bakery, renowned for its exceptional Haitian cuisine, has become a must-visit destination for food lovers seeking generous portions and authentic flavors. With a menu that boasts an impressive array of dishes, including Fried Pork, Fried Chicken, and delightful staples like Macaroni Cheese and Green Plantain, your taste buds are in for a treat.
The charm of Kal's Bakery lies not just in its menu, but in the experience it offers. Despite the occasional long lines — a testament to its popularity — customers rave about the flavorful dishes that make every minute of waiting worthwhile. As one satisfied diner, R J, eloquently puts it, “The portion you get is like no other at all,” highlighting the sheer value for money Kal's provides, with meals large enough to feed an entire family. For under $30, you can savor meals that will linger in your memory long after your visit.
Kal's Bakery is not only about quantity, though. The food is consistently praised for its freshness and high quality, a sentiment echoed by many, including customers like Tia, who emphasizes that the long wait is well worth it. This commitment to freshness translates into every dish, with each *fritay* made to order, ensuring that you enjoy the pinnacle of Haitian culinary tradition.
While the bustling atmosphere and culinary delights create a captivating experience, some reviews mention the need for improved service efficiency. Yet, the dedication of the staff shines through as they strive to provide you with delicious, homemade comfort food that warms the soul. As Gary Jefferson notes, dining here is an “otherworldly” experience, where every dish feels like a blessing from the kitchen.
In summary, Kal's Bakery is more than just a bakery; it's a community hub where flavor, tradition, and extraordinary value come together. Whether you're indulging in tender BBQ Chicken or savoring a hearty plate of Lasagna, the rich culinary heritage you taste will keep you coming back for more. So, prepare yourself for a delightful experience filled with hearty portions, unforgettable flavors, and a slice of Haitian culture right in Brooklyn!

For the price you get enough food to feed 4. They are always on point, food is always good. The wait and long line is for a reason. I know what I'm getting into so I don't mind waiting. I forgot to take pictures before I ate. I'm to full to set a plate. Lol. 10 stars

Even with the long line. They deserve 5 stars. Youre not going to get this much food of high quality for this price anywhere. So just wait the hour and get enough food to last a week for under $30

I absolutely love getting Haitian food specifically from Kal’s. The portion you get is like no other at all and for a great price. Food is fresh daily. Fritay is made on the spot hence why it can be a little bit of a wait time. If you don’t like your food fresh, stop complaining and go somewhere else. One thing I do wish they had with Fritay is Tasso or fried Fish. Nonetheless, I’ll always come here for good on-the-go Haitian food.

The whole experience is otherworldly from the crowd to the enormously packed dishes. Be prepared to feed a family of 4. Deliciosa supreme! God bless the cook!

Update: I had to come back and update. They have very much improved. The ladies are a lot nicer but they need a better system to fix the long line prob. The food is very delicious and the portions are out of this world. I couldn't wait, forgot to take the pic first. That's how much that was left of a medium plate with meatballs (3), after I took some and hubby took some, not even half. "Boulets" are a must try, don't let the size scare you. 1st post: The food is good and you get nice portion, but the customer service is unacceptable. There's a long line of people waiting but the ladies serving just stand there talking, arguing amongst themselves. So unprofessional! Want to add there was at least 5 ladies in there but only one was serving. Did I mention there was a line?!

They're doing their best to serve the community. Nothing in this life is perfect. You know for some people, even though they cannot work on the shoes others are walking in. They just willing to criticize more than trying to understand others. Some critiques are there to help getting better. But, some critiques from negative people just meant to throw others under the bus.
